This has been one of our favorite products to discover! Mindo is the only bean to bar chocolate producer we know of that is making this special syrup. It is made from the fruit of the cacao during the fermentation process which is something that is usually wasted and discarded. By creating this syrup, they not only use more of the cacao but also create a unique product that can be used to make dresssings, marinades or drizzles!
We like to give a full disclaimer that this does NOT taste like chocolate! It is a fruit, one that is tangy and tart. It can be combined with date syrup and olive oil or balsamic to create a dressing that will turn boring greens into a special salad. Miel de Cacao also pairs nicely with coconut ice cream and comes with a solid dose of antioxidants as an added bonus.
