Insight Coffee Roasters was a part of our lives before Wild Mala came to be and it continues to play a big role in our learning and loving of specialty coffee. Insight has been roasting and serving coffee in Sacramento since 2011.
Direct relationships and transparency have always been a focus and recently Insight took the leap to become a 100% USDA organic roaster. This presents new challenges in finding certified organic farms with the highest grade of coffee, yet at the same time it opens doors for new and unique producer partnerships.
In our "about us" story which was written at the very inception of our business, we reference a coffee that we found in Mexico which was one of the very things that inspired Wild Mala to begin sourcing the absolute best products from around the world. In 2020, three years after starting our business, we were able to leverage a conversation and a relationship that started because of that particular Mexican coffee to bring Insight together with San Cristobal Coffee Importers. San Cristobal has been involved in coffee production in Nayarit since 1993, promoting sustainability and equity at the farm level and throughout the supply chain. We think that Nayarit is a hidden gem in the world of coffee regions and we are so excited to have found San Cristobal and to be able to be a part of the work they do there.
The day we landed a pallet of the coffee from Nayarit that inspired the vision for Wild Mala on the roastery floor at Insight was one of our proudest and most fulfilling moments. We are now able to share this coffee with Wild Mala customers, the way we dreamed we one day would. We are offering it in a classic medium roast as well as an Extra Medium, for our customers that like their coffee just a touch darker.
We are honored to share each and every one of these coffees from Insight and we invite you to read about their origins and producers. We are happy to answer any questions on growing, processing and brewing methods.
